Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man is one of the most viscerally exciting, tonally unpredictable, and stylistically daring anime to come out in years. Adapted by MAPPA from Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga, it follows Denji, a young man in dire straits, is exploited as a Devil Hunter alongside his chainsaw-demon dog, 'Pochita'.

But after a cruel betrayal, he finally sees a chance to escape the squalor he's been living in! Having become incredibly powerful after merging with Pochita, Denji is recruited by an organization and sets out to hunt demons...

Chainsaw Man is not a comfortable shounen. It is violent, funny, emotionally unpredictable, and completely uninterested in protecting its characters. People Denji cares about die. The show does not soften it. What stays is the strange, stubborn warmth of a kid who has every reason to be nothing but rage and keeps reaching for something better anyway.
