Valheim is the Viking survival crafting game that took the gaming world by storm in 2021 — becoming one of the fastest games ever to reach ten million sales while still in Early Access. Developed by the tiny five-person studio Iron Gate, you are a slain warrior sent to the tenth Norse world to prove yourself worthy of Valhalla by defeating the ancient enemies of Odin. The procedurally generated world spans biomes from meadows to mountain peaks to deep ocean, each with escalating dangers and unique resources. Building in Valheim is remarkably satisfying — constructing longhouses, great halls, and harbours from timber, stone, and iron feels genuinely craftsman-like. The boss progression — hunting ancient beings across biomes to unlock new materials and abilities — provides excellent pacing. Multiplayer co-op with up to ten players elevates the experience enormously. Continuous updates add biomes, content, and polish. A genuine indie phenomenon.
