Horimiya

Horimiya is CloverWorks' refreshingly mature romantic anime — a series celebrated for doing something most school romance anime refuse to do: letting the central couple get together early and then exploring what a genuine, functioning relationship looks like. Kyoko Hori is popular and responsible at school but a domestic homebody at home; Izumi Miyamura is meek and invisible at school but secretly covered in tattoos and piercings. Their accidental discovery of each other's hidden sides sparks an honest relationship built on mutual understanding and respect. The series excels in depicting the small, authentic moments of a real relationship — quiet domestic scenes, supportive gestures, the way two people who truly know each other interact — rather than manufacturing artificial obstacles.
