Angel Beats!

Otonashi wakes up on the grounds of a high school with no memory of who he is or how he got there. A girl named Yuri is standing over him with a rifle, explaining, with complete calm, that he is dead. This is the afterlife. The school is purgatory. And she leads an armed rebellion against God.

The Afterlife Battlefront refuses to accept what life did to them — and they fight back against anyone trying to make them disappear quietly. Otonashi has no memory, no context, and no idea which side to believe. But he is about to find out that both of them are right about something.
